Foster Youth Executive Advisory Council
The California Foster Youth Services Coordinating Program (FYSCP) requires a local Executive Advisory Council to enhance educational outcomes for foster youth, as outlined in Education Code Section 42921 and detailed by the California Department of Education and the FYSCP Technical Assistance Provider.
About the Council
The Yolo County Office of Education Foster Youth Executive Advisory Council works to increase awareness of foster youth laws, rights, and services; identify and remove barriers to success; and align efforts across the Foster Youth Services Coordinating Program, school districts, child welfare services, probation, and other support agencies. Together, members promote academic achievement, educational stability, and clear postsecondary pathways for foster youth.

- Yolo County Independent Living Program / Foster and Kinship Care Education
- Yolo County Probation
- Youth and community members with lived experience
Our mission
By centering youth voice and partnering with community agencies, we work to ensure foster youth across Yolo County have access to the supports, opportunities, and resources needed to achieve positive educational outcomes, promote well-being, and successfully transition into adulthood.
