To improve infrastructure reliability, planned switch replacements and network updates will be performed across YCOE and its partner districts. All times are estimates, and every effort will be made to pre-configure equipment in advance to minimize disruption. Actual cutover times are expected to be under 10 minutes per switch, with switches activated one at a time. As a precaution, legacy equipment will be retained and kept operational for two weeks in case fallback is required.

YCOE Site Switch Replacements (Approx. 30 Minutes Each)

• GreenGate / Chavez / ECE JOC – Internet service will be temporarily unavailable during the switch transition.
• Dan Jacobs – Internet service will be temporarily unavailable during the switch transition.
• Plainfield SPED and ECE – Internet service will be temporarily unavailable during the switch transition.

District Interchange Switch Replacements (Approx. 30 Minutes Each)

• Esparto Unified – Full internet outage expected during the switch transition.
• Winters Joint Unified – Full internet outage expected during the switch transition.

YCOE Core Switches (Estimated 1–3 Hours)

During core switch replacements, access to centralized systems (such as QCC/QSS) and hosted services may be temporarily unavailable. Impacts by location include:

• Davis Joint Unified – Loss of access to QCC/QSS until switches are fully online.
• Esparto Unified – Loss of access to QCC/QSS and potential loss of access to services hosted by YCOE.
• Washington Unified – Loss of access to QCC/QSS until switches are fully online.
• Winters Joint Unified – Loss of access to QCC/QSS and potential loss of access to services hosted by YCOE.
• Woodland Joint Unified – Loss of access to QCC/QSS until switches are fully online.
• YCOE – Full internet outage until core switches are operational.

All-District Interchange Switch Replacement (Approx. 1 Hour)

All districts will temporarily lose access to the YCOE-hosted QCC/QSS system during final cabling transitions and data pathway re-establishment. Specific impacts include:

• Davis Joint Unified – Partial internet outage. Davis has dual internet providers, which should reduce the impact.
• Esparto Unified – Full internet outage.
• Washington Unified – Full internet outage.
• Winters Joint Unified – Full internet outage.
• Woodland Joint Unified – Partial internet outage. Woodland also has dual internet providers, minimizing impact.
• YCOE – Full internet outage.
