Kinders Go to College

The goal of Kinders Go to College (KG2C) is to expose kindergarten students and their middle school mentors to college & careers. High school, community college, and UC Davis facultyClass of 2030 students and students present engaging workshops. United States Department of Agriculture is a sponsor and partner. Many scientists in areas of veterinary science, plant science, and sustainable agriculture share their expertise with Kinders. The hidden beauty of the event is that we are engaging and empowering middle school students to think about their future college and career readiness goals indirectly as they lead their kindergarten buddies through the day of activities in areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Public Services.

KG2C started in 2008. The event is hosted annually at Woodland Community College and Sacramento City College West Sacramento Campus. Elementary schools are rotated annually. Woodland JUSD, Esparto USD, and Washington USD are served through this event. Sponsors include PG&E, Teichert Construction, and UCD Early Academic Outreach Program.
