Yolo County Child Care Stabilization Funding Now Available

The Yolo County Child Care Planning Council (LPC) in collaboration with Yolo County Office of Education (YCOE) has received ONE TIME Childcare emergency funding to assist families and childcare providers in Yolo County.

The LPC is aware of the acute and absolute childcare needs that have emerged in Yolo County during the COVID-19 pandemic.  This emergency funding will provide stabilization for families and providers. 



This funding is a one-time scholarship for up to 12 weeks of child care.  Funding will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.
In order to apply for this scholarship you cannot be receiving any subsidized child care.
The intent of this funding is to stabilize childcare providers and families through the trying time of COVID-19


Frequently Asked Questions:


1. Do I have to live in Yolo County to qualify for funding if my provider is in Yolo County?

You need to live or work in Yolo County and your child care must be in Yolo County.


2. Can I apply for this funding if I already qualify and receive subsidized child care?

No, if you are receiving subsidized child care and do not currently pay for your child care, you do not qualify for this one-time funding. You must be currently paying out of pocket any amount you are requesting.


3. How will I know if I am approved?

You will receive a phone call to verify your information. You will either be informed of your approval at the conclusion of this phone call or you will be told the process for your final approval.


4. How will the money be disbursed?

A check for the funding will be mailed to the child care provider to cover the cost of child care.


5. What happens if I stop care with a provider once the fees are paid?

Once the fees have been paid, they cannot be used for another site. Instead the fees will be used to fund an open slot in the child care.


6. Can this scholarship be used to pay for past due child care?

This will be addressed on a case by case basis. The limit to reimbursement is up to twelve weeks of child care present or past due.


 Funding expires December 30th, 2020
