Community Health Programs
Community Health Worker Certificate Program
The Community Health Workers Certification Program is a 105-hour, non-credit certificate for students who plan to pursue a career in community health or social work.
By taking this accelerated course, you will gain exposure to health careers and develop skills to be an effective Community Health Worker.
The program scheduled for summer 2023 is scheduled for:
- Monday-Friday from 1-3 pm
- The course will meet online via Zoom
The outcomes of the program include:
- Learn to conduct health outreach
- Learn about providing health education
- Learn techniques for informal counseling
- Develop a professional growth plan
- Learn community assessment skills
- Explore health agencies and prospective employers
Social Work and Human Service Certificate Program
The Social Work and Human Service Skills and Tools Certificate Program is 51 total hours, including 28 hours of online study and preparation and 3 days of in-person training.
The in-person training dates for summer 2023 will be:
- June 10, 9 am-5 pm
- June 17, 9 am-5 pm
- June 24, 9 am-5 pm
The program includes:
- Trauma-informed self-awareness and care
- Facilitation skills
- Safety and crisis planning
- National Mental Health First Aid credential
- Wellness Action Recovery Planning
